What is the Treasury?

Answer:
Treasury is defined as the Government Department

which is mainly responsible for collecting, managing and spending the public revenues.

Treasury department is present in almost each and every country or state. The one who is the head of the Treasury is known as the Treasurer and mostly he/she is working under the Ministry of Finance.

The major functions of the Treasury includes providing advice to Government about economy and fiscal conditions, monitoring and managing the financial affairs, advice about tax and budget strategies, managing finances, collecting taxes & duties, and many more.
