What does an Accountant do?

Answer:
Accountants do more than just prepare tax returns
or offer tax advice.  Accountants also prepare financial statements and assist with long term financial planning for both individuals and businesses.  They manage the systems that track income, assets, expenditures and debt, and they are often the “go-to” person for companies wanting to expand their business operations or borrow money.

The Accountant is the person who not only knows how much money the organization has in the bank, they can also tell you how much money other people owe the company, how much debt is being carried and the value of all your equipment and intellectual property.

Because Accountants know the total costs associated with running a business, they are also the person who can tell you at what price your product will generate a profit.
